The option on my SendTo does not send to the Desktop. Instead it is trying to send to email. How do I fix it?

tenbob--The SendTo folder, which contains the shortcuts for each command in the RightClick|Send To list, usually resides in C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\SendTo. Open that folder and see what shortcuts you have. One of them should be Desktop. Another may be Mail Recipient. It would seem the context menu command has gotten those scrambled or perhaps the shortcut for Desktop has the wrong command.
Note these are special shortcuts, and you cannot create new shortcuts the normal way.
To restore the Desktop shortcut's command to what it should be, I suggest you delete the shortcut shown and create a new Desktop shortcut as suggested here and put it into the SendTo folder.

Of course you could, alternatively do a System Restore to a date before the problem started.

Though it does not seem to be an issue here, for the record, to unscramble the Mail Recipient's command, follow the directions under Resolution #1 in the following link to change the command that the Mail Recipient shortcut issues. You will find MailRecipient under MAPI in Windows Tools|Folder Options|File Types.

Sometimes it's even easier. Open Notepad and do not make any entries. Click FILE > SAVE AS > and type or paste %userprofile%\sendto\Desktop As Shortcut.DESKLINK in the file field. Click the Save button and that's all.

I (and that first reference in my post above) made things seem more complicated than they are. All the reference really suggests for fixing a corrupt Desktop command in the Send To list is:

"Easy solution is to let Windows make you a new one. Type
into the Run Box
Regsvr32 Sendmail.dll

Then Reboot. "

Can't get much easier than that.
All the stuff about going into the Registry is needed only if that does not work.
