My System

Question Problem with enabling cookies

I have a very serious dilemma, and I have tried everything I can think of to fix it, without success. So now I am coming to the wonderful people here.

I joined another forum, similar to this one, and everything was going fine for months. I developed a minor problem with something, and was advised to empty all cookies and temp files. So I opened Internet Options, and said "delete cookes" and "delete files." This was about a month back. Now, although I have my security settings to "allow cookes" I am having no problem accessing any other site I have membership with, but this one particular site.

I have checked and rechecked, to make sure I have the setting right, and still, for some reason, my computer is not accepting cookies for that one single site. I even had the site listed in my "trusted sites" as I have this one. And in that setting, I also went into managing cookies, and typed in the site address, and marked it to ALWAYS ALLOW cookies for that site.
The result is nothing, and another confusing item, it also is not designated as a Trusted site either!

If anyone has any idea what I have done here, without realizing, please let me know because I ma getting very frustrated over this.

Another thing is that I believed that when you add a site to your Trusted sites list, then it would thereafter be marked as a Trusted site each time you visit that site. I have two sites that I have listed in my Trusted Sites list that are still not recognized as Trusted Sites. The one is my forum where I can no longer gain access, and the other is my local TV News website.

Completely baffled here!

Hello sandilew,

What firewall are you running and have you looked at it's settings?

I'm running ZA Pro and can block specific cookie types as well as specific sites with it. Or blocking scripting of some sort?

Do have have any Browser add-ons such as popup blockers that may be blocking Java applets or java scripting?

Regards - Charles

My System

Windows XP Firewall

Hello Charles,

I'm using the firewall that comes with XP. From what I can tell, it is not blocking this website for any reason.

I do use a few browser add-ons, but I have the pop-up blockers turned off, because XP has it's own pop-up blocker that works just fine, and it will ask me if I want to allow pop-ups from each site. So I know that is not the problem. My forum site is listed as one of the sites that pop-ups are allowed.

The last time I visited my forum, I discovered that it was finally marked as a "trusted site" though. That was nice for a change. But my local TV news site is still not recognized. What's up with that?

So, I am still needing some help here. Sorry
