I just recently bought windows XP professional, because my home edition demo ran out. My problem now, is that i have two versions of windows running on my operating system and because of that, I think explains the reason for my computer slowing down at times. Can someone please guide me on how to uninstall one of the versions of Windows XP. Thank you.

I'm assuming from the above that you did a complete install of XP-pro to a new location rather than any sort of upgrade/update over the demo version.

If so, is the new one on the same drive/partition or in a different location?

Was the demo version installed as an update to an earlier OS version already on the PC (sorry but never messed with the demo one and not sure exactly how it wants to install).

    it wasnt really a demo...

i had the home version, but i didnt have the key code, so eventually it expired. Then i bought windows professional and installed it but the home version is still there and i dont kno how to take it off.

So, are they both on C:\ or D:\ or something and if so, what are the names of the windows folders for each?

You can probably just delete the windows folder belonging to the demo version but we need to make real sure how the install was done and which folder holds what OS.

Also, if you had much software installed in the demo version and did a new install of XP-pro, you might be better off deleting it and doing an 'upgrade' of the demo install if that is possible.

But no way to offer reasonable suggestions without knowing more about EXACTLY how you are set up now.
