When I try to change the permissions on folders for different users to access them, I open up the properties menu for the folder, but there isn't a security tab to edit the permissions. I am using XP-Pro. Any ideas on why this tab isn't showing up to me?

I believe you only get the security tab is the files are on an NTFS partition. FAT32 doesn't allow the same level of security and you don't get the same options.

Go to Folder Options, View Tab and in the Advanced Settings at the end, untick "Use simple file sharing ", which will allow the Security tab to be shown in the file's properties. This only applies to WinXP Pro not Home.

Also, if necessary, in Folder options make sure hidden and system files can be viewed.
