I tried to remove a program from the CP using Add or Remove. Got a msg saying that the file couldnt be found.

Fairly common question but a search didnt turn any specifics.

I thought TweakUI could remove the entry from the Add or Remove list but
dont seem to be able to find it.

How can i remove the entry in the add/remove list?

    thanks,
    savagcl

(I know i'll hate myself when i find the answer)

Have a look in your registry :
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Then if you find what your looking for, just delete it (be careful).

For those who don't like editing the Registry manually, RegCleaner by Jouni Vuorio edits that menu nicely and even makes a backup in case you goof. It does many other things well also. It's free but getting harder to find every passing day.

Was looking for something to get rid of old DLL's and it looks like this
    just might do it.
