Which links and folders? What happens when you try to open them? Do you get an error message? If so, what is the exact wording of the message..or messages?

Win XP, recycle bin, folders, my computer... cannot open

Lately my computer acting strangely. On my desktop, recycle bin, briefcase and folders folders that I created can not be opened. When I select the, the pinter changes to hourglass then times out - nothing happens and no error message except a sound when those icons are clicked. From the start menu, my documents, my pictures, my music, my computer and control panel are also inaccessible. While on the internet, some interlinks are also inaccessible. These are inlterlinks I used to access.
Please help me if you have any info to resolve this problem without reloading the OS.

    Thanks,Art

Several of the problems (maybe all) can be caused by a virus or viruses.

To fix it (or eliminate virus infection as the cause), do a full system scan with an up-to-date antivirus program.

If you don't have one installed or it's not up to date, use one (or both) of the free online scans at Panda and Housecall.
