Windows XP Pro 64

I saw that you can get a 360 day trial for Windows XP Pro 64-bit. I am running a 64-bit processor, and was just wondering if it's worth it to install the trial version. Is it in beta stages still, or is it a full release? Is the performance going to increase by a significant amount? I'm just not sure I want to install it, but I don't know anything about it.

My system is:
AMD Athlon64 3000+ (S754) - poor timing, I know
1 GB of Samsung PC3200 RAM
80 GB SATA HDD with 8 MB cache
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe mobo
Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro

Is it in beta stages-> YES

I'd grab another 40 dollar 40 gig drive and use it to test...If you don't like it, put your other drive back in.
