Unstable XP DvSocket Error

My XP Pro has been unstable fo awhile. Different programs freeze and when I close down I get an error message saying DvSocket not responding. CPU usage seems to shoot up when all this happens. Any idea what the problem is? F-Secure said there was malognant code in my email program Courier but their support convinced me thsi was not so, and I excluded Courier. Have recently subscribed to Onspeed and installed bluetooth dongle. XP won't restore to previous stages.

My System

ketti - Welcome to the Board

That's a new one on me

Try sifting through this Google search ....

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...:en&q=DvSocket

Also suggest you run System File Checker ....

Start > Run - type in sfc /scannow - note the space and have your XP CD handy. SFC will run and exit without any closing dialogue. To see which files, if any have been replaced look in Event Viewer.
