If you right click the "little icon in the lower right hand coner in green" is there any options to exit?

Perhaps it's something simple like he inadvertantly turned on Sticky Keys and created something unusual.

Try pressing the Shift key five times and then choosing "Cancel" from the menu you get.

So I guess we are back to needing a picture since I don't have a clue what it might be either.

Do you know how to do one? If so, since you can't post it directly, feel free to email it to me or to Joe.

What applications do you have running (what's in the systray)? Perhaps you have a one of those little handy dandy applet goodies that is set to perform this action?

Barring that what kind of keyboard do you have (brand)? If it's a fancy smancy one we'll just look it up and see what it can do?

And perhaps a list of Processes running might be helpful...

Click on a username to the left of someones post and you should get a drop-down that includes an option to send email. However, since I'm not sure if I'll be at home or at work when you want to send, copies to each of the pictured addresses should do nicely. Both are broadband so no problems with large attachments.

    Hey, Newt!
If you click on someone's name to send them an email, you can't see their address, and you can't include an attachment. Maybe it's different for you Moderators? ;)

Flat: Have you tried right clicking on the green icon? Do you get any choices? If it were a "sticky keys" problem, SD2's suggestion would have solved it.
