Log on screen won't go away

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

When I log onto my computer I get my normal log on screen with my profile. I enter my password and the desktop flashes on screen, but almost immediately I am returned to the log on screen. I can't seem to break the cycle and log onto my computer. anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

Could be any of a number of problems.

Try booting to safe mode. That will sometimes clear up this issue when you reboot and go into normal mode. Otherwise we can talk you through some troubleshooting from a safe mode login as Administrator.
