Hi, I was fiddering with my notebook the whole day because of this. I upgraded my notebook from 256MB to 512MB. I am running windows XP pro. When I ran systeminfo from the Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Information, the GUI shows that I have a Total Physical Memory of 256MB. However, when I run systeminfo from the command line, or from System Properties, it shows 512MB, the correct figure. I am wondering if there is something wrong with my system? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Luke

I think Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Information is suffering lack of refreshment. (No not that kind! ) Try clicking View > Refresh, and see if the data changes.
If that doesn't work, try replacing the target in the shortcut on the menu for it with "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe" /categories +all That has helped others with msinfo problems.
If you have doubts, just paste that target into the Start > Run window and let it execute. If it corrects the problem, you'll have reason to implement it into the menu shortcut.
