    Hi,

In windows explorer, I would like to use the "link" toolbar with link towards folders.
The problem is that when I click on a link of this toolbar, windows explorer open a new window. Is it possible to force single window ?

Please note that the option "Open folders in a single window" is activated and works very well, except for the above mentionned issue.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

    Fred.

    Hi Fred,

    Welcome to the BBS.

I've never used the Links Toolbar (button?) but have been playing with it since you asked your question, and I must confess that I can't duplicate your situation. It doesn't matter whether I use a single-pane Explorer window or double-pane (my default), every folder I've added to the Links button opens in the existing Explorer window.

The only thing I can suggest is that you to check the View tab in Folder Options and make certain that "Launch folder windows in a separate process" is UNchecked. Click not only on the "Apply" button, but also on "Apply to All Folders" (it may be necessary to log off and back on before the changes take effect).

outrelouxhe--The Links in Windows Explorer are usually links to internet page URL's, and therefore, I believe are opening in Internet Explorer rather than Windows Explorer. So maybe that New Window that is opening is an IE window rather than a new Windows Explorer window. Might make it difficult to displace the Windows Explorer window.

Check My Computer or Windows Explorer > View > Explorer Bar > and make sure that "Folders" is tagged.
