    can anyone tell me what this is as i cant get the windows update without it it says! thxs

    boofuls--Windows Update site requires that you use Internet Explorer as the browser and that you have permitted "ActiveX controls and plugins" to run in IE Tools|Internet Options|Security Tab|Custom Level. But the easiest way to accomplish that is to put the URL for the Windows Update site into your Security tab|Trusted Sites. Uncheck the box "Require Server Verification... "|Apply|OK.
