Question

MsiInstaller event log 1004,1001

I keep get a warning in my event view about msiInstaller 1004,1001. They one after the other and are listed 3 times in arow. Logged at least once every day. I have a file in C\Config.msi that has nothing in it. Any ideas of where I should look. Microsoft had no info on this error when I clicked the link. Anything in knowledgebase I found is not related.

I have XP Home Edition SP2 all up to date and patched up. :-) NAV 2004 ZA 5.1.011 GoBack 3 deluxe among others..

Where do I begin? Did something get corrupted along the way?

Assuming that all the 1004 messages are identical and that all the 1001 messages are identical, please do the following:

Open the event viewer and double-click one of the events to open it. Click on the icon below the up/down arrows (sends a text copy to the clipboard) and paste the information here. Do this with one 1001 and one 1004.

The item causing the error is
Quote:
Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer
This accessory enables users who do not have a computer running Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition to view files that were created in Microsoft® Windows® Journal on a Tablet PC.
Is this something you need? If not, might be simplest to just uninstall it.
