Unable to Log On To Windows XP

Unable to Log On To Windows XP

I’ve been having this issue for the past 2 weeks. It appears that this issue might have been caused by lavasoft. I do recall utilizing the lavasoft system prior to this issue. I’ve been searching a lot of forums/threads and I found the below answer:

“Enter recovery via XP CD
CD Window
CD System32
COPY USERINIT.EXE WSAUPDATER.EXE

Reboot the computer. You should now be able to log on. Once you have, click
Start, run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Look in the right pane for the Userinit value. Double click the Userinit value
and change it to C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe, The comma on the end
is intentional, and it must be there. Now, if desired, you can delete the
WSAUPDATER.EXE copy that you created.”

Unfortunately, this fix did not work for me. I followed the directions accordingly.

I was unable to gain access to log into my computer after reboot . The same issue continues in which I am at the Welcome screen and the system is loading my personal settings, and then goes back to the boot process (continuous loop).

Please help me!

I suggest you try this:

repair the installation with the XP CD:

Boot with XP CD.

Skip the first repair option (no "R" press) and just continued with your installation. After you accept the license by pressing F8, setup searches for existing installations of Windows. By following the onscreen instructions and pressing "R" at this point, your current installation will be repaired.

My System

If you can get into Safe Mode, disable the auto restart.

Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and Recovery
uncheck auto restart
