We are going to need some additional scenario details to answer your question. Can you please describe in detail which passwords, under what cirumstance we are talking about, and what your desired effect would be after disabling them?

yeah...thats a negative to the highschool question and as i wrote it down...this is windows explorer...not IE. Glad we clarified that.

As far as whats going on here, when i use windows explorer and I type in the address bar \\myservername I initially am prompted for a username and password.

What i did the first time was entered a username and password and checked the box remember my password.

Now everytime i connect via windows explorer and type in \\myservername i am not prompted and it is using the stored username and password. I would prefer to change this.

    Any ideas?

    - domain or workgroup?
    - what sort of rights does your logged on username on the local PC have on \\myservername?
    - what does any of this have to do with 'disable windows explorer passwords'? I read your post as your wanting to enable rather than disable and windows explorer (unlike internet explorer) doesn't really do passwords within itself. Glad we clarified that.

You can add or remove your Cached Credentials using the following steps.

Start \ Control Panel \ User Accounts \ Advanced \ Manage Passwords \ Add
    Server: <enter server name>
    User name: <enter user name>
    Password: <enter password>

Start \ Control Panel \ User Accounts \ Advanced \ Manage Passwords \ Remove

You can also set a policy on a Windows XP Professional machine to disable cached credentials.

    ms-its:%windir%\Help\spolsconcepts.chm::/597.htm

    Hope this helps,

    DebugNT

Debug - looks like the original poster may have gotten mad at us and stayed away.

Thanks for the info though. I can use it even if he/she can't.
