xp home will not install on ntfs partition

hello
Tried to install xp home on ntfs partition gets as far as installing devises
then says cannot load installer for video press ok then cannot load
installer for all the other drivers it then changes screen to windows has
encountered a problem will close to prevent damage to the computer with a
lot of error messages then does a memory dump.If i restart the computer it
starts to install again but stops at the same point.If i format with fat32
it installs ok.

Help would be appreciated

I used xp home disk to format to ntfs.

It seems strange that FAT32 works so well. I guess you could always install to FAT32 and then convert the drive to NTFS afterward.
