no sound

I have gone as far as I can in trying to find a solution to this problem. All of a sudden I have no sound. The speakers are connected, have checked drivers, downloaded driver to no avail. I am sure the problem is a simple one but this air head can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

In control panel>sound, speech, and audio devices>adjust sytem volume, check all settings. Make sure speaker>advanced displays the proper speakers. Audio tab shows proper speakers and check volume settings.

My System

When in device manager, select veiw by connection. Are the speakers listed? Is there any way you can test the speakers on another system or another set on your PC? Did you install anything or update any drivers prior to this problem?

I had a similar problem recently.

In my case, it was fixed after I went to device manager and uninstalled the sound driver. My computer then detected missing hardware and installed replacement drivers. My sound had returned to normal within minutes of starting the fix.
