Suddenly, all the files in my folders are in reverse alphabetical order. I cannot find a way to change it to go from A to Z.

Usually, when I hit Arrange in Alphabetical Order, they will arrange in ascending order. But when I hit that command again, it will arrange in decending order.

Thanks for answering so quickly! the only 'arrange' that I can find to hit is under View and that is to arrange icons. I can't find anything from the toolbar menu that says Arrange (ascending or decending) Where to I look?

I assume that You are in Windows Explorer.

At the top there is a bar with the "Name ", "Size ", "Type" and so on. One of them has an arrow to indicate that this is chosen to sort by.

My guess is that the "Name" in the bar on Your computer has a downwards pointing arrow. Click on "Name" and it will reverse the sort order.

Click on Name (at the top 'o the Name column) and, when the files are sorted alphabetically, quit Windows Explorer whilst holding down the Ctrl key.

I appreciate your trying to help me. I am in Windows Exporer, but my screen shows no bar at the top with 'name', 'type, 'size'.
Under 'VIEW' I can arrange icons by name, type, size but that's not the same thing. I'm stumped.

    Hi LoisTO

    Try in View choose Details.
You might see the top bar after that.

I just hit the NAME from the drop down menu a couple of times. One time will ascending/descending. The next time I hit it, it will be the opposite!
