XP-home or XP-pro?

To view the event logs, try going to Help and having it search for event. 45 articles and at least 7 of them will give you instructions for getting the event viewer started. Or you could searchhelp for application event log and get some specifics on opening and managing it.

My System

To verify that event logs are enabled, Control Panel, System,Advanced, Startup & Recovery, settings make sure event box is ticked.

To view event logs, Administravive Tools, event viewer.

How are you logging in, (using the Welcome Screen?) and XP Home or Pro?
