    Hello WindowsBBS Team/Members

After doing something in the file types/control panel options. I must have changed something. This something I have done, has stopped me from running files ending in .EXE, and their icons are now the black default white one. . .

I get the following message when trying to open any .EXE File:

    ---

    Windows Cannot open this file:

    File: Filename.exe

To open this file, windows need to know what progream created it. Windows can go online to look up automatically, or you can manually select it from a list of programs on your computer.

What do you want to do?

    - Use the web service to find the appropriate program
    - Select the program from a list

    ---

I think it's something to do with the .EXE File extensions/associations.

If you can help, please do.

    Kind Regards
    Daimen Richards

Go to this page and scroll down to "EXE File Association Fix for Windows XP ". Suggest that you run an antivirus scan too.

    HTH.
