I have Windows XP installed on my computer. I recently installed the 2004 edition World Book encyclopedia from a CD-rom and it installed Quick Time but Quick Time's icon appeared on my taskbar. How can I get rid of this Quick Time icon on my taskbar? When I right-click on this icon there is no "delete" item. Thank you very much

I don't have QuickTime installed, but I would look in it's preferences. There may well be an option to not show the icon on the taskbar.
Alternatively look in the Start Up folder and, if it is there, delete it to prevent it being started on boot - same option may be in Quick Time preferences.
If you are talking about the icon in the tray, open QT, Edit, Preferences, Quicktime Preferences, Browser Plugin and uncheck "Quicktime System Tray Icon".
