Can the other f keys be assigned to other tasks, such as making f8 open IE (I don't have an internet keyboard)?

    El Parro,
Not that I'm aware of. But there may be some third party software out there that will. If you desperately want shorcuts to IE, Mail, volume control etc then a keyboard with function buttons above the Fkeys may be the go? Microsoft and Compaq/HP have them as an example. My MS keuboard has this functionality but I never remember to use this functionality
