Does anyone know if Seagate BackupExec 3.0 will work with XP? It's no longer supported by Seagate. If not, any suggesions for working with (2) tape drives?

    TIA!

    Hi Russ,

Have you tried the obvious? Load it and try it !!

A search on Google brings up 10 pages of links for Veritas Backup Exec - is this the same program ?

Well, I kinda wanted to know beforehand... I looked at some of Google's links and have since concluded that the "BackupExec" is now "BackUp MyPC" by Stomp, INC. And it does (now) support XP, so I WILL try my old version 1st and know that I have an upgrade path.

    Thanks!

    Russ

Actually, after installing XP, the MS version of "backup" that ships with XP looks indentical to my old Seagate 3.0 and is supplied by Veritas... GO FIGURE!

Well I guess that's 'ole Bill doing things on the cheap again :D

Hope works for you - it worked OK for me up to a point - disk to disk OK, but was a bit iffy backing up to CD-RW.
