XP shut down / restarts

I have read some of earlier post to this board. I looked at Event Log and found the same two events repeated every day.
MrxSmb
"redirector failed to determine connection type"
and
MrxSmb
"Master browser has received a server announcement that believes it is the master browser (from other computer) for the domain........"
Could either of these things cause my computer to restart on shut down ? It restarts once, then it will shut down properly the second try.
Thank's

I gather from your post that the first time you try to shut the PC down it does a restart rather than a shutdown.

What is the relationship between the time you try to shutdown and the first of your two messages? And do you have your PC set for "wake on LAN"?

The second message (master browser thing) wouldn't have anything to do with your problem in any way I can think of.

Yes, The first shut down try results in a restart, then the second time shuts down ok.
I am not sure what you are asking about , regarding relationship of time of shut down and event message.
I have not been able to find the Wake on LAN option setting. Where is it ?
Thank's
