Disable Bios memory

    I've been getting error messages (blue screen)and after checking my computer, windows tells me to "Disable my BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing" Could someone tell me how I do this? Thanks!:)

    Early in the boot process you should see (for a second or two) options to press a function key to get into system settings. The key and exact wording vary but often F1 or F2.

    This should take you to the section where you can change your BIOS settings. No mouse but controlled by the arrow keys and pretty simple.

    Suggestion though - only change one thing at a time and make a note of what it was before and after the change. Some BIOS setting changes will make the PC unable to boot. Not a major problem since none of the changes are permanent and you can always boot again and get back into the BIOS section to change them back -- if you know what you had before.

    It is possible that BIOS shadowing is already disabled. This suggestion by Windows is only a suggestion and for troubleshooting purposes. Generally, BIOS shadowing is a good thing and makes BIOS access by the OS faster.
