There is no simple way to describe this problem. My cpu clock reads the
correct CDT time. My XP shows the correct time but needs to be reset and seems to date stamp things in email incorrectly for no apparent reason.

It's a mystery. Now I tried to place an online product order and some error trapping at the vendor says my clock is set incorrectly.

Like I said, no simple way to describe the problem except to say set time in XP.

So the BIOS time is correct but the clock INside XP is wrong?

If so - double click on clock and adjust it.

    XP time is right.
CPU time is right. ( But I will double check again AM/PM)

The time is off one hours as reported by my regular email chum who informs me of it all the time.

And errors crop up such as the order placed for a product described above.
I have to think it has something to do with daylight time changes and all that.

If your clock is right in both places, it may be your ISP or your chum.

Yes I believe we checked mail sent from the ISP webmail service and that is ok.

And since the problem is intermittent I can't mark the thread solved.

Is there not a place in administrative functions that controls time set at system level?

    System under discussion

AMD Athlon II x3 450 Regor 3.2 Ghz
    MSI 880GM-E41 mainboard
    Kingston DDR3 Hyperx/fb 2x2Gb
    WD Blue 1Tb SATA HD
    Logisys 480w Power supply
    Kensington ci7 wireless USB mouse
    corded keyboard
    using onboard video by ATI

As I recall these time problems always occur around daylight savings and that that date has changed over time. Can set time be over ridden as administrator and how can I check those settings?

And yes I have turned off the set CDT automatically at Control Panel.

One thing suggested to me was to set my time zone advanced one hour, but that seems like a strange work around.

Is this a desktop, laptop? Who is the Manufacturer, and what is the Model number or Product Number(P/N)? Maybe we could find a Service Manual, or User Guide.

By resetting the Bios clock again I believe the problem is solved.

Thanks to all those who replied.
