Resolved Start Menu Question

hi, from the start menu...all of my frequently used programs have disappeared. Except browser and email. How do I get my frequently used programs back.

The simplest fix would be to try and use Windows System Restore to roll back Windows to a point in time when your computer was functioning correctly. It allows you to undo system changes without affecting your personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos.

Hmmm, that's weird.

The next step then would be to try and restore an earlier system image or backup.

 

Evan, I click on say, ccleaner, word, excel, malwarebytes. None show up in the start menu. I am running malwarebytes and have run adwcleaner. How do you know how far back in restore to go? I went back a few months and it could not restore.

Hi guys, thank you for the excellent and timely responses. I will try and go back as far as need be in system restore. Appreciate those links you found! The one by Fred Langa looks promising.
