    Hi
    When trying to sort out a time server problem I noticed many DCOM errors.
    I have been logging on as an administrator but get the message:-

    The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {A4199E55-EBB9-49E5-AF1A-7A5408B2E206}
    to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    I have googled this and the usual reply says go into Control Panel - Component Services - Computers - My Computer - DCOM Config

    'Then in the right pane, locate the program by using its friendly name.
    Right-click the program name, and then select Properties.
    On the Security tab, in the Launch and Activation Permissions group
    box, select Customize, and then click Edit.

    Add the user to the permissions list, and give the user the appropriate
    permissions.'
    BUT
    The CLSID listed isn't in the right pane!
    Using Regedit the CLSID occurs several times and refers to RegSrvc. Right clicking Properties gives Application Type: Local Service, Authentication Level: 'Default' Application Type: {6EF8E539-12E9-4595-A7C6-3DDA8A4069B2}
    In RegSrvc.Registry/CLSID right clicking permissions gives
    Permissions for Administrators greyed ticks in both Full and Read.

    Right clicking RegSrvc in Component Services Identity tab it says 'Which User Account do you want to use to run this application' only The system account (services only) is ticked.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
