I can't seem to be able to remove any installed programs in Programs and Features. When i click on an item it tries to install instead of letting me uninstall. I'm using Vista Ultimate. I highlite the item i want to take out but can't find the uninstall feature.
    Hope you can help me.

    Hello infowanted,
    Welcome to windowsbbs.

If it's in the list it is already installed. Double Clicking on one maybe confusing to you but allow it to continue. It will do one of 3 things, uninstall it, ask for confirmation if you wish to continue to uninstall it and all components, or offer a repair or change, if this is an option. ( A couple of others may happen but the previous are most common.)

    Questions:
    1>Which app?
2>When you have a program selected and high lighted, in the list, do you see the option of "uninstall" which should located be in the top toolbar? See picture below:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial141.html

NOTE*Just to be thorough, some items, such as some updates, may not be uninstallable once installed. These usually will have neither install nor uninstall and may be blank on the far right of the list.

    -----------
You must have an account with the user rights to install and uninstall programs, such as admininistrators rights.

When you go to Start (orb) -> All Programs and select the program, there might be an uninstall option available there.

If it happens in all the Programs and Features selections, I might wonder if malware is involved.

I got rid of the program by reinstalling it and then uninstalling.
    Thanks, Everyone
