I have a HP laptop which had its internal HD crash so I bought a external hard drive and reloaded the hard driver with recovery disks. It loaded up fine - no errors.
THen, I switched the bios to read the USB hard drive first and al I get is a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. How do I fix this?
There is no internal hard driver on attached to the computer.

Most likely it won't work with the recovery disks because these are set to load to the C:\ drive. In your case you'd bee much better off replacing the internal hard drive of the laptop.
