When I boot up the message: "pdboot.exe not found" flashes on the black screen before windows loads.

I googled and got some answers saying the I have a registry error BUT I have been told not to use a registry cleaner.

What do you suggest on what to do and what is the pdboot?

    Thanks so much.

Click on the start button and go to RUN. Type in MSCONFIG and look in the startup tab. If you see a reference to the file - uncheck it.

Thanks, I recently uninstalled PerfectDisk so part of the program lingered.
It was not in MSCONFIG -- will contact vendor to get rid of the PDBoot.exe.
Thanks so much for your help
