how to turn off kernel debugger?

hi guys.

i cant seem to run Daemon tools on my friend's laptop since i get an error saying i must turn off kernel debugger.

i know nothing about nothing on vista (barely know anything about my XP either) so would appreciate any help on how to do that.
also if i need to enter anything at a command prompt than instruct me on how to get there on vista. if i need something run as administrator - explain that as well.

thanks a lot for any sort of help

cheers

This web site might help you turn off the debugger:
http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/mic...debugging.html

I did add a few steps to what is on the web site:

go to start menu -> Run
type in cmd
open it by right-clicking and choosing "Run as adminstrator"
Type bcdedit -debug off
press enter
and reboot

toperia:

Go to this web site and downlaod and install the software:
http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads/

You probably want the 32 Bit version.

Then see if you can run DAEMON TOOLS.

New Functionality: Marking a thread as 'Resolved'

We have added new functionality to the forum that allows you to mark your threads as 'Resolved'.

It is considered courteous to post a reply if you have been able to resolve your problem, or received an answer to your question. If you were given multiple suggestions/solutions, it is also helpful if you would list the solution that worked for you.
