Unhappy backup and restore center

the backup files option works fine. The backup system option will not function. When I select this function it hangs in a loop and I get error 0x8008005 check system settings. Only way to stop loop is to use taskmanager to end system backup.

MS tried to find and fix to no avail. tried windows repair using system install disc did not fix. So much for MS techservice sfc found unknown corrupted files.

OS windows vista business sp2.All updates installed. Using norton internet security 2010

I researched this on many forums. All results for this showed error caused by Mcafee.
Anyone know how to resolve this.
Thanks,
Kc6qdi (Jack)
