I bought two Inspiration 530 computers a couple of years ago and my wife's computer works fine (Using VISTA), but mine comes out of the sleep mode by itself about 80% of the time. I see no programs running that might cause this.
I think it is time for me to seek help. Thanks

you mean your computer goes to sleep mode then you're doing nothing..it just goes out of sleep mode without pressing any keys in your k/b or not even moving the mouse? or what exactly you mean?

check power management settings at control panel...compare it to the other computer..

Does it stay "asleep" if you close all your programs?

Mine won't go to sleep or will wake up if I have certain webpages open that show lots of flashing advertisements (or maybe keeps checking back with it's server).

I upgraded my RAM from 1GB to 3GB and it seems to sleep a lot better. ReadyBoost seemed to help when I had 1GB.

Have you changed any settings in Control Panel -> Power Options? I like Balanced, but change some "turn off" timers. I think Power Saver is more aimed at laptops.

Look in Device Manager -> Network Adapters, Power tab, that it is not set to wake from network.

Help and Support may give you some tips.

    Matt

I have exactly the same issue, with the AMD-powered 531, except for that I know I have a habit of knocking the mouse after I put it to sleep. Maybe you do the same?

Yes-Good thought about the mouse, but unfortunately that's not the problem. I suspect that I have something running in the background for which I am unaware. I think that I had a program once that listed all the running programs. Thanks for the answer.
