Ctrl functions won't work

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong section.

I have tried searching the forum but cannot find anything on this.

Basically my CTRL key will not work. I cannot use it to perform simple functions such as cut copy paste and select all.

I am completely stumped by this. Please help.

Many Thanks for your time

Did it just stop working one day or has the control key always been disabled? Is it both control keys that are affected? Do you have the latest drivers for your current keyboard? Have you tried a different keyboard? Can you use your control key at all (like highlighting files?) When you give us some details to the problem you've got a better chance of getting a faster answer.

Well, I did some Googling for you and found this about Function Keys

You can see if you have that process running by looking in the Task Manager.

That was the first site I came across when I googled too but it didn't work as I didn't have that process in my MSCONFIG for some reason.

As I said I am completely stumped.

I have also tried a system restore.
