Hi chyana. Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

What happens when Windows Media Player tries to burn CD's? Does the process stop at 95% and hang? Any error message appear? Have you tried other CD's? Does the same thing happen? Let me know! :)

No Problem chyana. Do you have any third party codecs or plugins installed for Windows Media Player? If you do uninstall them as one of them maybe be interfering with Windows Media Player. Try right clicking on the Windows Media Player shortcut and click run as administrator. Now see if you can rip or burn CD's. If you still can't then try this.

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the start search box.
    2. At the top cmd will show. Right click cmd and click run as administrator. The Command Prompt window will open.
    3. Type sfc /scannow and press enter. Let the process run. Let me know if it finds an corrupted files.
    4. After its finished, reboot the computer.
    5. After the computer reboots shut down all backround programs that are running in the system tray in the taskbar in case one of those programs in conflicting with Windows Media Player.
    6. See if you can rip/burn CD's now. :)

You might be using "quick" or short-cut method that cannot burn all the files completely. Are you trying to rip and burn from one optical drive to another? What file format are you using? Is the file format creating files that are too large?

    Check your method:
    Windows Media Player FAQ

This talks about ripping and burning the long way:
