Hi folks, I ran into an issue with the BCD corrupting after I upgraded iTunes.
Error:
file: \boot\bcd
status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data
After searching the error I found that I had to rebuild the BCD file, and rebuild the MBR, upon doing so Vista loaded, but I lost the F11 function at boot time. I used EasyBCD to view the contents of the BCD and found the following

To make things interesting, I ran MS's Recovery Console from a bootable ISO, it detected the Vista O/S on Partition "D:" not "C:", using DIR on partition C and D, it showed all my data on partition D and the recovery partition on C. This is contrary to what Windows displays on the O/S and disk manager. Also, both partitions are Active.
When I used the bootrec rebuild function it did not include the Recovery partition with it. Ultimately I would like to learn how to fix this without installing Vista from scratch, that is what I would consider a lazy to do things (Windows 95 era) no offense meant to those who choose that method. I like to do things a bit harder allowing me to learn more in depth functions of computers etc.

iTunes and the MBR, I could not see a connection between them. If you look on the Apple website, you will probably find "not much" support for Windows systems (at least, I could not find much).
You are "modifying", EasyBCD has a forum, try asking there.
C: - D:, D: - C:, the recovery partition will be marked "hidden". The program that reads the drives may just overlook that and set the first partition on the HDD as C:.
It makes it really hard for us if the system has been modified. We may be able to point you to "standard" solutions, once there has been modifications, the source of the problem can get lost.
How recovery partitions work on OEM computers, I just point people to the manufacturer's website. We tend to know how to work with Windows disks.
