boot.ini in C:

Hi,

I seem to have a problem. My default system, which is Vista 32bit, is installed on drive C:
Today, I additionally installed WinXP Pro on partition D: (logical drive).

The result of it is that I the file BOOT.INI, located in C:, does not list Vista.

I was only able to boot to Vista after having inserted the Vista installation disk and there I chose the option "Startup repair".
I'm writing while being logged in Vista, but since boot.ini does not list it, I probably won't be able to boot to Vista again when not using the CD.

Please help me resolve it. I want to keep Vista on C:, but a copy of XP on D: would also be fine.

Boot.ini is negated by Vista.

Download VistaBootPro from here http://www.pro-networks.org/vistabootpro/ to handle the dual-booting.

Thank you for your input.
I'm not familiar with VistaBoot Pro and I'm not sure which setting to choose in order to resolve the problem.
Please, tell me if I could alternatively use advanced System Recovery Options available on the Vista CD? Once there I could run /FixBoot.
Would this help?

I think it'll work, but it has been too long ago I used it. VistaBootPRO has a forum where you can get help if you need it: http://www.pronetworks.org/forum/

Have you installed VistaBootPro? If not, initially install it in XP as you said you can't boot Vista. It will run in both systems.

At the top, choose Manage... on the menu where you can set defaults and the like.
