I accidently turned my computer off possibly during some updates. Now when I turn the computer on it goes to the black screen with the windows vista down at the bottom and the blocks moving across the screen..then reboots over and over again . I tried safe mode and the driver files load then the machine rebbots itself again.I have tried all options and still the same result just reloads . thank you

Hi Lancelot. Since you can't access Safe Mode by pressing F8 on bootup try using the Last Known Good Configuration option. See if you can get your computer back up running using that option. By the way to do you have a Windows Vista installation DVD?

Safe mode doenst work, it reboots just before it finishes loading, I've got the same issue. It says configuring updates stage 3 do not turn of the computer and it reboots

I would look at running a System Restore from the Vista DVD.
This was taken from a KB article dealing with being locked out of an account.

I have a week old Vista64 ASUS laptop; same thing happened to me, repeated reboots. After about the 10th or 15th time, I interrupted it by powering down. Waited...powered back up....got 'windows failed to start normally' black <old DOS> screen, picked Start Windows normally....ta dah :) It happened on the third update for me, just as it did for you. Couldn't hurt to try this.
