I have a bit of a mystery here. I can't find Windows media player or the Media center anywhere on my computer! All my music which I burned to windows media player when I had XP and videos which I downloaded have gone into Real player, which is the default player. I thought that I might change my mind and make Windows Media player the default but I can't find it anywhere. I've looked on the start panel and change/remove programs and I've googled desktop, but no joy. When I tred to download WMP 11, I got a message saying that it was already on my computer. But Where???

What happens if you type media in the Start Search box?

What happens when you click on the Start Button and go to all program? Do you see Media Player on the list?

thanks to you both for replying. When I click on Start/media or got to All programs I do not see Windows media player at all. I went to music and found Public music When clicked on "Open with ", Real player came up I then clicked on Browse and found a folder called Windows Media player. I opened this and found a whole list of files! Now I've found it what do I do to open it ?

Click on Start and paste the following into the Run box or the Search box:

    wmplayer.exe

Double click on it when found.

Typing just Media in your Start Search box will give you the shortcut for both Windows Media Player & Windows Media Center.
