My brother called me and said it appears he accidently deleted the Recycle Bin from Windows Vista Home Premium Edition. I don't know anything about Vista as I still have Win XP SP2. He said he did a search and Recyele Bin does not come up. What could have happened? He has no "restore" points as it is a brand new laptop.

The 'Delete' option when right-clicking the Recycle Bin is new, giving you the option of removing the shortcut from your desktop easily. To easy. ;) To restore it go Start/Control Panel/Personalization. In the left pane click on change desktop icons and retick the recycle bin.

    Thanks for the reply.

P.S. How do you set "restore points" in Vista so I can tell him in case he needs them in the future?

Fastest way is to type systempropertiesprotection.exe in the run box.

Then click the button near the bottom that reads Create.
