Remote Desktop rules

Windows Vista Inside Out, page 994 says that a Remote Desktop rule should appear in the Inbound Rules list. One is instructed to double-click on the rule to open its property dialog box.

Unfortunately, I do not have such a rule. I am running Vista Home Premium. Does this model not have such a rule? My object is to access a Vista PC by Remote Desktop access from an XP PC.

I have ennabled "Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer" but still can not connect from my XP.

I believe that the Remote Desktop system is only available as a client in consumer version of Vista. Have a look at this:

That means you have the client tool to connect to a computer running the Remote Desktop service and view that computer's desktop. You do not have the service tool to allow others to connect in and remotely access your desktop.

You should have the Remote Assistance system which is a similar system in that it allows temporary remote access to the desktop:

Thanks, again, Reggie -

Guess I'll have to settle for Remote Assistance
