High Disk Usage

I keep getting a message re: my Windows Server's high disk usage. If this is a problem, how do I address it, because it gives me no options or suggestions to do s or correct it. I get the same high disk usage message re: my IE as well.

Perhaps you now appreciate rsinfo's query too

You may consider upgrading your memory, 1GB even for home basic is on the low end.

Anyway, have a peek at identify bad driver I know it's for windows 7 but most of the suggestions are still applicable to Vista.

Please do not hijack that thread, post your findings here.

Sorry, I don't understand what you're advising. The results I see is what I posted per your request. Everyone gave there system information & I do not see any suggestions other than for me to send private msgs to responders. It seems to me a private msg is a private msg and that if you want to know what they say, with all respect, you can send private msgs to them. Otherwise, I see no suggestions to follow or post. Perhaps I am unable to recognize what the suggestions are. I appreciate your efforts, but need more clearcut information/instructions.

How much free space do you have on each partition ?

Run chkdsk /f on each partition.

Running chkdsk :

Login as Administrator. Open My Computer. Select individual partitions [drive letters]->right click->Properties->Tools->Error-Checking->Check Now. Verify that Automatically fix file system errors is checked & click Start.

The system may complain for some drives that the drive is locked & could be checked only on restart. Click ok/yes for these.

JTee, if you are not sure about our suggestions, go to Start (orb) -> Help and Support and do a search for the relevant terms.

So...if you went to Help and Support and looked up CHKDSK, you would find "Check your hard disk for errors", that will tell you about running CHKDSK (Error Checking) on your drive/s.

If you are not sure about our suggestions, try looking up Help and Support.
[There are explanations and shortcuts there that would take us time trying to explain it to you. At the same time, you will also learn the basics about what we are suggesting.]

If you ever seem to have problems with your hard disk or file system, run CHKDSK.

Matt

It is important that you know how much free-space you have on your drives. Open Start -> Computer, go to the View menu and change it to Details.

As I said, try looking up the term (freespace) in Help and Support.

It's not that I'm not sure, it's I am not understanding. I do apologize. From what I've seen in the responses, this problem seems to be rather common & not a big deal. I really did not understand about the sending private msgs. I will not bother with triyng to get assistance with resolving it any further.
Thank you so much for your time, efforts & energy. Again, I do apologize.
