Internal NIC has 0 received packets

I have a 2003R2 Standard server sitting on the DMZ with its own domain & 2 NICs for internal/external connections. It's a bit old so the internal connection is the legacy (on the mobo) and the external is in the only available PCI slot. About the 1st of this week, the internal NIC stopped receiving any packets, but sends plenty. I can ping internet, but cannot ping internal IP. If I ping the name of our primary DC, it actually returns the ping IP of our web site, which is a totally different server & domain? It will not respond to incoming pings.

When I browse the network, this server domain cannot be seen from work domain & our work domain cannot see this server domain. this server domain is gone.

I have verified the firewall is off & the internal nic has the latest driver update. It has been restarted multiple times & I also uninstalled 5 MS updates from this week & restarted.

I purchased a USB NIC & tested it with the same results as the legacy NIC. I have now gone back to using the legacy NIC for the internal since the USB nic did the same thing.

I know the server needs to be replaced, but in the meantime, I still have this issue that needs resolving so we can again access it via the LAN.

=================UPDATES==================

I was able to ping loop to local & by IP succesfully. I changed cables & ports, several times...

If wanted, I have dcdiag & netdiag results...I also think we're going to purchase another server to be a bit more up to date with this one.

I still appreciate ANY thoughts since this is one for my books!?
