Thumbs down IE 6 repair issue

IE 6 repair failed.

An error occurred loading C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Mstime/dll the file may not be installed or has been corrupted.

What may I accomplish for a remedy?

Please advise. Thanks for your time

Hi ...

That Dll is located in \IE6SP1\IEW2K_3.CAB....as near as I can tell, it is a self registering type, so you should be able to copy it to your "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\" folder....do a reboot....

My System

If a repair fails, try a reinstall.

Thumbs down

IE 6 repair has been accomplished. Good news. Thanks.

Current issues remain: Display properties are not adjustable? Multimedia properties are grayed out? And there is no sound?

Please advise. Thanks for you time.

This sounds like you either just had a major crash, or performed a new install of windows.
If a major crash, Restart in Dos Mode, type in scanreg /restore and press Enter, then select a registry to be used dated before the crash.
If a new install, you need to find out what kind of hardware you have so you can get the correct drivers (motherboard, video and sound).
Get System Information Windows for that. The standalone version is what you need.

Thumbs up

All issues have been resolved. Thanks markp62 and BBS.

Restoring the register to an earlier date was the major answer.
An education for me. Bravo.
