Customize Windows ME Dial Up/Juno/Opera

Hello.

My father has ME and is using Juno to access the Internet. He wants to use Opera for browsing the internet, not the Juno Internet interface.

Is there a way to use the Juno dialUp connection in ME, automatically close, or minimize IE, and open Opera?

Maybe a command switch. (Where would that go?)

Bettter yet, is there a way to just use the Juno dialUp connection to connect without opening the Juno/IE interface and automatically open Opera?

My dad is 80 and can't quite keep up with all of the required mouse clicks.

In IE go to Tools> Internet Options> Programs tab> uncheck the box When Internet Explorer starts, prompt me if it's not the default web browser. Click Apply> OK. Close IE and open Opera. It should ask to be the default.

But when I connect using Juno's dialup connection it seems to overide the default browser and opens with Juno's version of IE.

Looks like Juno is tying itself to IE, Netscape or Firefox.

Juno's software is designed that way. There was/is a trick is to get a dial up connection without their software ever coming up, but it can only be done if Juno was never on the system, or ALL the guts have been ripped out, and never using the builtin email client.
Uninstalling and then trying it does not work.
However, the use of this method is guaranteed to have them ban someone for life as a customer, so I won't post how to do it. Believe me, I know for certain they will, did it to me, took them a year to notice.
