Windows ME Update

Is the Windows ME Update site gone?

It looks like the old V4.Windowsupdate.Microsoft.com gets re-directed to the new V6 site and then it tells me that it is only for Microsoft with a link to get Mac updates.

Windows ME Update

Yes, I had been there. But if you are using Windows ME when the V6 page opens, it tells you that you do not have a Microsoft OS. If you are using a XP machine then these links let you proceed.

My System

As support for Me ended last year there will be no further updates and as V4 was directed at the older OS's and V6 at the current OS's it is perhaps no surprise that V6 does not recognise that you have Me. Strange that it does not recognise a MS OS though!

Windows ME Update

Well, someboudy has been pretty busy. The old V4 link no longer re-directs to the V6 link. But that does not help too much as the old update page does not seem to be able to see my computer it just sits at the "Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software..." screen and that's all. Maybe they forgot to out the Vista check....
