Pink screen

Can someone answer this for me. The screen on my monitor has turned pink. This happened once before. It was pink for a while then turned a bright green then back to normal. This time it has been pink for days . My question is

Is it the monitor or the computer's video card?

I'm fairly sure this is a problem with the monitor rather tahn the graphics card. Graphics Card failures tend to be along the lines of either a blank screen, or else gibberish.

That is correct! This is a color gun problem on the monitor!

There are 3 color guns red green blue, all colors are made from these. Sounds like the green is dying.

With the computer on, turn the monitor on and of quickly a few times. Sometimes the voltage surge will cause this miss fireing gun to kick in.

The monitor is going bad though, even if you get it going now it may not last.

Good news is that you will still be able to see the screen but just not in normal colors. So you will be able to get by untill you get another monitor.
