USB cable

I have loaded software for karoke onkey player made by IVL Tech and plugged in cable to player to try to download more songs onto player. When I click onto karoke manager (software from IVL ), it states player not connected. I have uninstalled the karoke manager in Safe Mode, it is not in device manager either. Then I made sure that USB was not plugged in when I re-loaded the karoke manager. After I loaded karoke manager, I rebooted computer. Then I plugged in USB cable to computer and player, turned player on, clicked on karoke manager, which still states that the PLAYER IS NOT CONNECTED but connects to the Internet, which is where you pruchase songs to download to plaeyr.. I also have went to Microsoft site, loaded latest updates for Windows 98 SE. I also looked for another USB driver but Micosoft stated that I had the latest drivers. I loaded my Win 98 SE cd and tried to load another driver and it stated that I had the latest driver. Do you have any ideas on how I can get this to work.

My System

You rather go to IVL Tech for the latest driver.
Then, are you sure, you followed manual, in subject what goes first (software, cable, etc.)

Usually, with these sort of things, you need a driver for the cable itself.

Did the unit come with a disk? If so, connect the USB cable to the computer, it should then ask for drivers, direct windows to the CD that came with it. Restart you computer once they have loaded.

To check it has installed the cable, go into device manager (Right click "My Computer" icon, select "Properties" & click "Device manager" tab, expand "Ports (COM & LPT)" by clicking on the "+" sign next to it, & check that your cable is listed.

After the cable is installed, install the sofware. then all should be fine.

If there are no drivers on the CD, check on the manufacturers website for installation instructions.

Dig.

Sorry, I did not think that the first one worked because the computer hung up.

The player came only with software to load the karoke player. I checked the cd prior to posting the problem.

Yes, I followe the manual in the order that it stated to do everything.

I have gone to Microsoft site for a driver for cable but no luck.

There are no problems listed on Device Manager. Been there several times.

I will try to go to web site of IVL Tech now to get a driver. I have e-mailed them with the problem on 12-26-02 but no replies yet.
